• Understanding of middleware and integration technology.

• Experience in API design, advanced proxies, analytics, BaaS, developer portal.
• API Security: API Key validation, authentication, authorization and identity.
• Good hands-on development experience with Java, .Net and good backgrounds in other languages like JavaScript, Node.js and other API related technologies.
• Knowledge of web services (Restful)
• Knowledge of installation and configuration, platform operations, troubleshoot and support of API products.
• API product expertise, API design pattern knowledge.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Reviews design documents and provides feedback on approach and estimates.
• Creation and updates of API definitions.
• Developing APIs using Azure serverless components or containerized environment.
• Monitoring and improving current API.
• Migrating SOAP XML interfaces into RESTful API.
• Challenging business requirements and suggesting the right API design.
• Ensures that software meets or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements.
• Executes the unit testing. Peer review of the code.
• Scrum-based delivery.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile

• The API Developer would need to have at least 5+ years of experience.
• YAML/OpenAPI (or Swagger) experience is required.
• API Gateway knowledge - Azure API Management or OpenShift or similar (e.g. Apigee) experience is required.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code e.g. ARM/Chef/Puppet required.
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving attitude.
• Conversational level English, excellent communication skills.
• Degree in computer science; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft certifications are a plus).
• Experience with database engines SQL 2019+, CosmosDB are plus.
