Job Description

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of how best to leverage and exploit the
language’s unique paradigms, idioms, and syntax. We are looking for an Android developer responsible
for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices.
Your primary focus will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end
services. You will be working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the
infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating
quality products is essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
● Writing clean and efficient codes for Android applications
● Monitoring the performance of live apps and work on optimizing them at the code level
● Identifying and resolving bottlenecks, rectifying bugs and enhancing application performance
● Performing unit and instrumentation tests on code
● Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and design new features
● Staying up to date with new mobile technology trends, applications, and protocols
● Drive design and implementation of Roam.ai’s Android SDKs
● Articulate complex architecture problems, drive engineering excellence and collaborate with a
cross-functional team
● Speak with fellow developers - our customers - to identify and prioritise features that will help
achieve our goals of becoming go to solution of location based solution for mobile applications in
a few lines of code
● Help maintain a first-class developer onboarding experience - including writing documentation
and sample apps
● Contribute to open source as we set the standards for location tracking
Key Requirements
● You have prior experience as an Android Developer using Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Android
NDK
● Familiar with Material Design
● Hands on knowledge of common Android libraries like Retrofit, OkHttp, Picasso, RxJava,
Gson etc
● Proven work experience in design patterns mobile architecture using frameworks such as
MVVM/MVC/MVP
● Familiarity with RESTful APIs to effectively integrate Android applications
● Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
● Familiarity with various testing tools
