We are looking for a knowledgeable, thorough Agronomist who can develop better farming practices and find effective solutions for the food and farming industry. You will identify and solve problems related to plant or soil nutrition, damage from insects or wildlife, weather or climate changes, or the use of specialized products, such as pesticides, fertilizers, etc. Using this information, you will also help farmers develop techniques to increase crop quality and yield. Complex data and information that they develop must be worked into a serviceable format for public consumption. Your ultimate goal is to work scientifically to produce the finest crops, on the most consistent basis that they can, in any situation Key Duties & Responsibilities: 1. This will be a purely field role. As a part of the special projects of Gramophone we require Agronomist to provide demonstration on particular farm lands, to verify the products sold on Gramophone platform. 2. Regular Farm visits, monitoring, and thereby ensuring the best agricultural practices to be followed during the entire crop cycle. 3. Develop and disseminate advice to achieve best plant health and productivity relating to crop nutrients, crop protectants and field. 4. Research and develop new techniques for farming so that new and useful crops can be grown. Also plans certain ways through which the crops can be grown even when they cannot be grown due to different seasons. 5. Provide recommendations to the field staff for the various crops throughout the assigned region. 6. Hold field demonstrations and grower meetings to promote a package of practices 7. Manage field calls regarding product performance and complaints 8. Attend public and university meetings/field days to stay abreast of new products and technology Agronomist Requirements: Field experience of at least 2 to 3 years. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel. Ability to work outdoor environment. Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office. Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills. Strong research, decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Awareness of industry trends, technology, and developments. Sales and presentation skills are also a major plus. Educational Background: UG: Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field. Post-graduation and experience would be preferred. No. of Positions - 4
