Job Description

General purpose of the role: 

The veterinary doctor performs spay/neuter, amputations, eye nucleation, tumor removal, wound repairs and other surgeries; oversees and coordinates the Animal Birth Control program; and works in a team with Animal Aids medical staff to ensure that the animals always receive the best treatment possible adhering to the organisations protocols. Training will be provided.

Key area of responsibility:

1. Perform spay and neuter (approx. 5-10 per day), amputations and other surgeries on daily basis
2. Monitor patients post-operative recovery, tracking infection rates and any other complications
3. Monitor AACTs dog animal birth control programme ensuring humane and effective population control and rabies eradication
4. Liaison with relevant governmental and non-governmental bodies in relation to the ABC programme
5. Report regularly to the management and prepare written reports as required
6. Ensure Animal Aids protocols are followed and the utmost care is given to each and every patient

Experience, education and skills:

1. Fluency (both oral and written) in Hindi and English
2. Minimum 3 years commitment
3. Previous experience not required the job profile will be adapted based on the experience of the candidate
4. Very comfortable around all species of animals
