As we seek to develop our capability in our India office, we are looking to hire a Senior Wordpress / PHP developer. The ideal candidate will become a cornerstone for our India office so we are looking for someone who not only wants to undertake interesting Wordpress projects, but also someone who is able to help develop our offshore capability.

Core Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expert levels of understanding in the following skills:

• A minimum or 5 years of professional experience in a technical role which should include the following:
• Expertise in Wordpress development (Min 3-5 years)
• Expertise in PHP and PHP Framework development (eg, Laravel)
• Expertise in MySQL
• Expertise in Git
• High quality code and adherence to coding standards
• Strong knowledge of WooCommerce
• Strong knowledge of LAMP stack

Additional skills

In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will also have working knowledge, or an interest to learn, the following:

• Strong knowledge of front-end framework, particularly VueJS and React.JS
• Good understanding of AWS
• Knowledge of other PHP CMS (eg. Drupal)
• Knowledge of common PHP Ecommerce solutions (BigCommerce, Magento)
• Strong communications skills in English
• Working understanding of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Knowledge of project management software such as JIRA, Teamwork etc

Other skills

As well as the above, candidates will also stand out if they can demonstrate any of the above

• Understanding of key UX / UI principles
• Leadership and entrepreneurial thinking
• A self starter who can work independently

Experience

• A high grade, Technical Degree from an established technical university
• Experience working with an international business
